Move Beyond Performance and Toward a Life and Relationships of Authentic Connection

Michelle Labine, PhD, is a psychotherapist and clinical sexologist with more than 25 years of experience in mental health. Her work supports individuals and couples in making sense of their experiences, deepening connection, and building lives and relationships that feel authentic, sustainable, and meaningful.

THE TRANSFORMATION

A Life That Resonates From Within

Imagine waking with more ease, meeting your relationships with calm confidence, and reclaiming the energy that’s been quietly drained by perfection, pressure, and the weight of expectations.

Through thoughtful, compassionate exploration, many people begin to experience a profound shift: self-criticism gives way to self-understanding, people-pleasing softens into clear boundaries, and relationships become more honest, connected, and fulfilling.

Life begins to feel less like something you must constantly manage or perform and more like something you can inhabit fully, with authenticity, clarity, and a deeper sense of meaning.

AREAS OF FOCUS

Tailored Psychotherapy Support for Complex Lives

Whether you are holding the demands of leadership, high responsibility, or caregiving, or noticing a growing distance within a long-term partnership, meaningful change begins by slowing down.

As the therapeutic work unfolds, exhaustion softens into renewed energy. Disconnection gives way to deeper intimacy. New ways of relating—to yourself and to others—begin to emerge with greater clarity and ease.

Individual Therapy

Together, we focus on:

  • Chronic stress, burnout and emotional fatigue
  • Perfectionism, self-criticism and people-pleasing
  • Reconnecting with your needs, values and a clearer sense of direction

Clinical Expertise Informed by Lived Experience

Michelle Labine, PhD, is a trauma-trained psychotherapist, AuDHD clinician, and AASECT-certified sex therapist with over 25 years of experience supporting individuals and couples. She is also the author of Her Face of Autism, a blogger for later-diagnosed neurodivergent women, and an autistic advocate and educator.

Michelle creates a space where queer, gender-diverse, and neurodivergent clients are welcomed without the expectation that they adapt themselves to fit social norms. Therapy becomes a place where you can speak openly about identity, relationships, and life experiences while feeling understood, respected, and supported.

Her work bridges clinical expertise with lived experience, helping later-diagnosed neurodivergent adults and high-achieving professionals untangle patterns of burnout, perfectionism, and chronic stress.

Through her therapy practice and her writing, Michelle is dedicated to creating grounded spaces where people feel deeply seen, supported, and free to be fully themselves.

“Care is most effective when it honours how people are (wired), not how they are expected to be.”
— Michelle Labine, PhD
